Job Summary: The Emergency Room Technician provides direct, basic patient care activities under the guidance and direction of a Registered, Practical LPN Nurse. Handles the care and cleaning of specific equipment, stocking of supplies and equipment. ER Tech assists with transportation of patients, supplies and equipment.

Essential Functions

•  Accountable for collection of test specimens as directed according to established procedures and documents.
• Technician performs phlebotomy, EKGs, splinting, Transport, wound care, simple dressing and other duties as required within the Emergency Room.
• Assists customers in a friendly, prompt, caring manner, always maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and respect.
• Be able to work as part of the care team to meet the needs of the customer and to support team objectives, assisting other team members when necessary.
• Compliant with HIPAA regulations at all times.
• Supported and promoted an environment that was conductive to quality customer service.
• Responded to every emergency situation according to hospital policy.
• Practiced flexibility by assuming the role of administrative assistant when needed.
• Properly documented all procedures as required and without error.
• Assisted nurses with patient treatments.
• Preformed daily duties of vital signs, patient turns, AM care, PM care charting, and other requested tasks.
